Mood Lighting…

…How Will You Light Your Night?

I find it so cool how something as simple as lighting can change the look of your wedding! To go from this…

Think about it. Lighting has always been used to “set the mood”, so why not set the mood for your guests? Turn your venue from drab to fab by lighting several candles all around, sticking different color lights in the corners of the room, under tables, inside centerpieces or by replacing bulbs with black lights! Whoa.

Talk to your venue or wedding planner and discuss different options for lighting to achieve the look you want. Instead of spending a ton of money on flowers and wedding decor, save your dough and switch out some bulbs. Could it be so easy? You’ll never know unless you ask, right? Any event planners or wedding vendors out there that could give brides helpful tips on lighting? If so please do comment and share!

A Chocolatier’s Wedding…

July 4, 2009

…And The Bride Rocked A Peacock Feather Veil!

This article from Chicago Magazine is what inspired this post!  In the article, chocolatier and founder of Vosges Chocolate, Katrina Markoff was asked about the best alternative to a wedding veil.  She said, “I wore a custom headpiece of colored vintage Dior feathers for my wedding in 2005. I love the energy of wearing something that comes from an animal.”

Totally intrigued, I was lucky to find her chocolate and violet purple wedding pictures on the always inspiring and reliable wedding site, Brides.com.  After going through the pictures, I was left in awe…each detail was unique, inspiring and filled with creativity!  I can only imagine her chocolates are the same!

Whoa.  I know - amazing, isn’t it?  And can you believe the bride even made her own little chocolate wedding cakes?  How she found the time to do that is amazing in itself.  When describing them, she said, “They tasted like his kiss“.  I’m sure the cakes were as sweet as she seems to be!

To see the rest of her pictures and read more, go HERE.  To try her chocolates, go HERE.  Happy ooohing and aaahing!
